Designed with garden use in mind, the Heritage hanging chair is just as much at home in a conservatory as it is outside. Made from strong, durable outdoor materials, the pod frame is made from lightweight aluminium and handwoven with outdoor synthetic rattan in a Beech colourway, which means the cocoon can be left outside.
The supporting metal frame is made from steel for strength, and is powder coated for a weather resistant finish. It is important to perform regular visual checks of the support frame to ensure no scratches appear. In the event of a scratch, use touch-up paint (obtainable from Hartman) to maintain the frame and prevent rust. There are also two supporting chains that are height adjustable to achieve the perfect leg height and safety straps are included to prevent over swinging the seat.
The cushion is tailored to fit perfectly in the cocoon pod and has a quilted effect for added interest. It can be secured to the pod with tie points at the back, the side and underneath the cocoon pod. This cushion is not weatherproof and should be kept inside to keep it clean, dry and ready to use when you want. The open sides to the Heritage hanging chair allow for extra elbow space, making it easy to get in and out of the swing chair. The high sides of the cushion match up to the two woven armrests for enhanced comfort.
This cocoon will require some simple assembly at home, with instructions and fittings provided. To help extend the longevity of the hanging chair, always store the cushion after use and in a safe, dry place.

Care instructions
- A protective cover is not essential, but Hartman advise the use of a protective cover to keep garden furniture looking its best
- Caution is advised when moving your hanging egg chair – we recommend lifting the cocoon rather than dragging to avoid damaging the paintwork
- Take care not to scratch the steel frame, as this can lead to rust (annual maintenance may be required to protect the steelwork if any scratches occur). Touch-up paint is available directly from Hartman UK
- Spillages should be wiped up as soon as possible
- Hartman recommend storing the cushion after each use to keep it clean, dry and ready to use
- Clean the rattan pod using a non-abrasive sponge and lukewarm detergent-free soapy water
