Growth Technology BetterGrow Vermiculite is a soil additive that improves soil texture and helps to grow healthy plants. It holds onto moisture in the potting mix, so it is consistently available for plants to use.
Produced from a naturally occurring mineral that is heated to high temperatures, BetterGrow Vermiculite is sterile, lightweight and very porous. It is easy to handle, long-lasting and neither alkaline nor acid.
Particularly useful as a seed covering, the vermiculite will insulate seeds against temperature fluctuations and support seedlings as they emerge, leading to better germination and healthy seedlings. When repotting plants, it increases moisture retention and supports plant growth by absorbing nutrients, preventing them from being washed out. Nutrients are then released gradually to the plants. Vermiculite can also be used where moisture retention is a concern.
How to use
Seeds:
- After seeds are sown, cover the mix with a thin layer or vermiculite ;and moisten gently
- Do not firm the compost
