The giant-flowering Gladiolus features multiple stunning blooms, resting above long spear shaped leaves in a breathtaking combination that is guaranteed to draw attention in your summer garden.
These gorgeous gladioli make a striking statement when planted in a summer border or alternatively make for excellent cut flowers with their vibrant colour and substantial bloom, reaching upwards of 120cm when fully grown. We recommend dual planting whereby bulbs are planted both for garden display in a summer border and separately for cutting throughout the summer.
For the best effect, plant these bulbs in clusters of five or more in a position of full sun but protected from strong winds. Gladiolus need water during the growing period and mulching with peat or compost can help conserve moisture. We recommend staking with canes or stakes at about 5 cm from the base of the stem after the buds are formed. Plant the bulbs 10 cm deep and 10 cm apart. In order to ensure a long flowering succession we recommend planting from March into June in intervals of two weeks.
