Gladioli Primulinus ‘Atom’ – 10 bulbs

Gladioli Primulinus ‘Atom’ is a truly breathtaking summer perennial with stunning blooms of bright red, delicately lined with edges of silvery white.

Highly popular since its introduction in 1946 its long-lasting and eye-catching flowers (up to 7 per stem) grow on loose spikes (2-3 spikes per bulb) with narrow green, sword-shaped leaves.

Blooming from the bottom of the spike up, these sword-lilies provide an excellent long-lasting display, perfect for summer borders or cut for the vase.

For the best results, plant these bulbs in clusters or drifts of five or more in a position of full sun with each bulb 10 cm deep and 10 cm apart. We recommend planting the bulbs at intervals of two weeks in order to extend their display and ensure a healthy bloom throughout the summer. If possible separate groups of bulbs with some flowers saved for cutting throughout the summer and the rest for garden display.

After the buds have formed place canes or stakes at about 5 cm from the base of the stems, preventing damage to the bulbs. Provide consistent moisture during the growing season and remove spent flower stems, allowing the foliage to die down naturally.
