Gladioli Giant Flowering ‘Fidelio’ – 10 bulbs

Gladioli Giant Flowering ‘Fidelio’ will produce charming spires of vibrant purple blooms, reaching through and above a summer border. These large, elegant flowers grow above tall sword like leaves, rising upwards of 120 cm to sit perfectly towards the back of a summer border.

Also known as ‘sword lily’ because of its sword-shaped leaves, Gladioli come in a variety of stunning colours. We recommend planting ‘Fidelio’ alongside contrasting coloured Gladioli  for an eye-catching and exciting summer display. The beauty of these large 10-12 cm flowers, combined with their ease to grow, makes them a favourite for florists as cut flowers.

Gladioli look fantastic planted in clumps, in a position of full sun. We recommend planting these bulbs from March into June in two week intervals to create a long-lasting bloom all through the  summer. Plant each bulb 10 cm deep and 10 cm apart. After the buds are formed, stake the stems around 5 cm from the base, preventing damage to the bulbs. Gladioli need water during the growing period and mulching with peat or compost to conserve moisture.
