Festive Christmas Sitting Gonk

The Festive Christmas Sitting Gonk is a cute Christmas ornament that will add a touch of novelty to your home over the festive period. His body is covered in a Fairisle knit and also has the signature Gonk bulbous nose sticking out from under a long navy blue hat.

Beneath the soft felt hat, there is a long flowing white and grey beard cascading. The hat has also been finished with a jingly bell at the end which gives that familiar Christmassy sound. This Gonk ornament is made using firm padding, with bead stuffing at the bottom to ensure it is sturdy when stood in place.

Gonks originate from old Scandinavian folklore of gnomes and goblins, they are often suggested to be the Nordic answer to Santa Claus. Even now, Scandinavian children will leave out porridge and butter for the Gonk on Christmas Eve, to ensure that he is well fed and will bring good fortune and protection to their homes and farms.
