Originating from South Africa, Eucomis comosa ‘Pineapple Lily’ is a unique and visually striking perennial plant that is perfect for adding a touch of tropical flair to any garden. This plant features long, wavy-margined pale green leaves, strong and pink-striped pale green stems and 30cm long racemes of white flowers with pink margins and a small rosette of bracts bursting out at the top.

To plant Eucomis comosa ‘Pineapple Lily’, simply place the tubers about 10cm/4″ deep in well-draining soil in a sunny location. The plant prefers a moist, but not waterlogged, soil and will thrive in a spot where it receives plenty of sunlight. Once established, the plant will require minimal maintenance, only occasional watering and fertilisation during the growing season.

Pineapple Lily is a great addition to any garden, its unique flower head that resembles a pineapple, makes it a striking centre feature in borders, containers or rock gardens. It also makes a great cut flower and is a favorite of pollinators.

Eucomis comosa ‘Pineapple Lily’ is a relatively hardy plant that is well-suited to most UK climates and is easy to grow, making it a great choice for both experienced gardeners and beginners.
