English Grown Bluebells (8 bulbs)

English Grown Bluebells (Hyacinthoides non-scripta) are a vigorous perennial with distinctive, fragrant, bell-shaped blue flowers, that appear in spring.

Growing to a height of around 30cm, with linear leaves and upright stems, these flowers are strong, self-sufficient and truly beautiful.

These bulbs are perfect for naturalising in a partly shaded woodland garden or underneath the canopy of deciduous trees. They will spread quickly, forming large clumps, so if you want to control the numbers in herbaceous or mixed borders, remove the faded flowerheads to prevent the plant from becoming invasive. Once established, Hyacinthoides will spread rapidly.

Plant these bulbs 10cm deep and 10cm apart from each other to allow room for the flowers to grow efficiently. They like partial shade and a well-drained soil with a good supply of humus, such as leaf mould or compost.
