A wonderful addition to smaller spaces, the Dwarf Rhododendron ‘Gertrude Schale’ has dark evergreen leaves and an abundance of vibrant crimson red flowers in April. A wonderful woodland shrub, it will flourish in areas of dappled shade adding a burst of colour and year-round structure to garden displays.

Compact and with densely packed foliage, the dark green leaves act as a wonderful foil for other plants and add year-round structure and interest when it is not in bloom. One of the earliest varieties to burst into bloom and showcase its vibrant flowers, this delightful variety is adorned with a cascade of flowers that form into delightful trusses.

A wonderful addition to areas of partial, or dapple shade, it looks wonderful in borders, containers, rockeries or along a gravel path. And with its compact and neat growth it suits a wide range of gardens, including courtyard and city gardens, where space is more limited.

Robust and reliable to grow, once established in the right spot in your garden it will flourish for years to come with minimal care, adding year-round structure and beauty to your garden.
