David Austin Vanessa Bell® (Auseasel) English Shrub Rose (6-Litre Pot)

Vanessa Bell® (Auseasel) is a pretty, bushy and upright English Shrub Rose, bred by David Austin. It has large clusters of charming medium sized yellow blooms, that have a delicate pale white edge. Each bloom has a wonderful medium-strong tea fragrance that is a showcase of the tea fragrance’s soft yet complex nature.

With its mix of soft yellow hues, this rose first emerges with attractive pink-tinged buds. As these open they reveal yellow blooms, with a rich yellow centre and pale white edges that accentuates and highlights the beauty of the flowers.

This rose is a versatile choice that can be grown in large pots and containers to elevate the appeal of patio and seating areas, or used to create a magnificently scented rose hedge to add zoning and structure to garden displays.

To ensure you get the best floral display, when planting your rose add a sprinkling of Mycorrhizal Fungi to help establish strong roots and encourage good plant health. Plant your rose in a position of full sun or partial shade, in moist but free draining soil. Throughout its flowering season, regularly deadhead the spent blooms to encourage new bud growth.

This rose was bred by David Austin and was named for the artist, designer and founding member of the Bloomsbury Group, Vanessa Bell. She was also the sister of the writer, Virginia Woolf.
