The Poet’s Wife® (Auswhirl) is an English shrub rose bred by David Austin which has large golden yellow blooms that pale as the flowers mature. The flowers are fully double with a neat outer ring and ruffled petals at its centre.
This rounded and compact shrub has rich foliage and a lovely, strong fruity scent with lemon notes which get sweeter with maturity. It makes a wonderful cut flower to enjoy in floral displays around the home, adding a burst of sunny yellow hues. It is a wonderful addition to pots and containers or a mixed border and looks particularly striking planted alongside white blooms, for a vibrant and uplifting display.
A repeat flowering rose, its blooms appear in flushes lasting for up to four weeks from late spring through to early winter to create dazzling garden displays.

How to care for your rose
To get the best from your rose, plant it with a sprinkling of David Austin Mycorrhizal Fungi to help the roots establish and encourage good plant health. We also recommend regular feeding with rose food, once in late March or early April and again in July. Whilst this rose is in flower, regularly deadhead the spent blooms to encourage new bud growth.
