David Austin Mary Delany (Ausorts) is an elegant climbing rose with charming pointed buds and almost thornless stems. It bears large open sprays, over a long flowering season, of wonderful medium-sized, loosely double, light pink blooms. As the blooms gradually open it exposes golden stamen and a light-medium old rose fragrance that is full of depth.
This rose is a medium-sized climber so it will grow to a height of around 3.75m within the first 3 years.
As a relatively thornless climber, Mary Delany is perfect for growing into garden structures such as an arch, an obelisk, a pillar or over a doorway. It can also be used to grow along a garden wall or fence. Plant in a position of full sun or partial shade in practically any soil type and add an application of Mycorrhizal Fungi to help establish roots and encourage good plant health.
Mary Delany was an English artist who was known for her botanical drawings and creating botanically accurate paper flowers.
