The Desdemona® English Shrub Rose is a truly stunning rose, with peachy pink buds that open to beautiful, white, chalice-shaped blooms. The petals are incurved, creating an arresting interplay of light and shadow. The strong Old Rose fragrance has hints of almond blossom, cucumber, and lemon zest.
This rose forms a most attractive neat, rounded, bushy shrub, growing to a height of 3-4 feet and a width of 3-4 feet. It is a repeat-flowering rose, so you will enjoy blooms from late spring though to early winter.
It prefers full sun, but will tolerate partial shade. It is also drought-tolerant once established. It will excel in mixed and rose borders, pots and containers or as cut flowers. For the best chance to establish roots and encourage good plant health, plant with an application of Mycorrhizal Fungi.
This rose is named after the tragic heroine of Shakespeare’s Othello.
