Perfectly formed pom-pom shaped dahlias in wine-red, simmering orange and subtle blush pink hues are combined with this glorious Ball Dahlia ‘Indian Summer’ bulb mix.
A summer flowering favourite, the symmetry of the layered scooped petals forms a honeycomb pattern to create mesmerising garden displays. A true beauty, these flowers are incredible to admire its intricacy up close or stand back and enjoy a magnificent cluster of blooms creating vibrant displays.
This ‘Indian Summer’ mix of Dahlia bulbs includes:
- 1 x Ball Dahlia Sylvia has simmering orange shades that add a warm glow to the summer garden and will last through to autumn.
- 1 x Ball Dahlia Sandra is a must-have variety for its large blush pink and dark pink flowers.
- 1 x Ball Dahlia Babette is another flowering favourite, loved for its large wine-red petals, that create striking displays.
Add Dahlia bulbs to pots and containers to elevate the appeal of your patio and balcony areas or add it to beds and borders for an eye-catching burst of warming ‘Indian Summer’ hues. They can be mixed with a wide range of plants but we love the classic pairing of Cosmos. Or why not grow it added to drifts of grasses such as Pennisetum ‘Red Head’, which has a wonderful red tone to the foliage and dramatic-looking fluffy flowers.
We recommend planting dahlia tubers, between March and June into fertile, well-drained soil 15cm deep and 60cm apart. Position them in a sunny location for maximum flowering and impact. After planting, water in well and monitor during the summer months. Aim for one good soak once a week to the base of the plant. Deadhead regularly to encourage more flowers through till first frosts.
