Cordyline australis ‘Southern Spendour’ is also known as cabbage palm ‘Southern Spendour’.
It has narrow, long, spiky foliage which fans out from the centre and arches to ground level, with upright central spikes. The foliage is green with broad pink margins and thin pink stripes.
Ideal for borders and containers and resists drought well. It works well as an architectural plant and would suit a Mediterranean themed garden.
It is a low maintenance shrub that prefers a sheltered location in full sun or partial shade.
This striking palm-like evergreen shrub will over time grow into a beautiful tree-like palm and sometimes a mature ‘Southern Spendour’ will bear pretty displays of small, fragrant pink-white flowers in summer.
