Bring a touch of exotic jungle colour into your garden with the stunning green and yellow variegated leaves of Canna ‘Pretoria’. These incredible leaves contrast beautifully with its stunning towering flower spikes of rich and intense orange.

Beyond its incredible appearance, Canna ‘Pretoria’ also received the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit, recognising its excellent reliability, output, disease resistance and ease to grow.

These tropical stunners are ideal as a container or pot plant, acting as the focal point of a patio display or garden accent.

Best planted in pots, look for a warm, sunny and sheltered position with light sandy soil that is enriched with a little well rotted manure or bonemeal.

Keep Canna bulbs moderately dry until roots are formed and young sprouts are showing. Gradually increase watering as the plant develops and water freely during the flowering season. A light application of a complete fertiliser when the shoots first appear and weak liquid manure when the flower spikes appear is beneficial.

When the flowers fade and the stems show signs of decay, water should be gradually withheld to induce a thorough ripening for the next year. The pots should be stored in a dry place until the time for repotting comes.
