A favourite of hummingbirds, Campanula ‘Viking’ is a mound-forming deciduous perennial with upright spikes of large, lavender bell-shaped flowers. These fantastic mauve flowers form a stunning mass of colour from May to July with a delightful light fragrance.

Reaching an eventual height of around 45cm and a spread of 60cm, this compact bellflower is perfect for sunny or partly shaded borders, cottage gardens, small gardens or containers. Plant in groups for the best visual impact or use as cut flowers for a stunning summer display.

It is hardy through most of the UK down to around -5 degrees and should be planted in a position of full or partial sun. Plant into moist but well drained, neutral or alkaline soil. It is easy to grow and virtually disease or pest free. It is also rabbit resistant and adored by hummingbirds, butterflies and bees.

Cut back after flowering to encourage a second flush of flowers and propagate by division in spring or autumn.
