‘Beurre Hardy’ Pear Tree, a popular orchard variety, has a superb and distinctive flavour.

Conical in shape and prized as an outstanding dessert pear, Beurre Hardy originated in France and it has been around for two hundred years. It’s regular yield and upright growth make it an attractive feature in the garden and, in autumn, the foliage turns bright red for a spectacle show. This pear is recommended for its hardiness, juicy flavour and russet brown fruits.

Beurre Hardy is available on a rootstock to make it suitable for growing in your garden. The rootstock controls the rate of growth and ensures the tree fruits earlier than when grown on its own roots. Most modern cultivated pears are grown on Quince A rootstock.

Quince A, a Semi-Vigorous variety, is suitable for most soils and sites. This rootstock allows the tree to grow to a mature height of up to 3.5m (11ft) of 10 years.
