As the foliage matures, its changes to dark green before its vibrant golden yellow and orange autumnal shades, that creates a magnificent variety of colour to admire on a single tree.

With its slightly pendulous, upright and open habit it allows light through, so it doesn’t overpower a space. To get the most from this hardy and easy to grow Purple Birch Tree, plant it in a bright and sunny position, so that you get the depth of colour from the foliage. It grows well on most soil types, although chalk soils will limit its growth. Ideally its needs moist well drained soil, but it is drought tolerant once established.
