The only blue Allium, Caeruleumbulbs, also known as ‘blue-flowered garlic’, grow into delightful spheres of little blue flowers. They emerge in June and July, growing on sturdy upright and elegant stems and reach up 60cm in height to create a striking garden display.

In addition to its wonderful floral display, these flowers are also a great way to attract bees, butterflies and a host of beneficial insects into your garden. This has been recognised by the Royal Horticultural Society who have added it to their Plants for Pollinators Collection.

Perfect for planting at the front of a border or rockery, or for underplanting shrubs and roses, it is a versatile and low maintenance garden addition. Its wonderful rounded, clusters of blooms also make a beautiful addition as a fresh cut or dried flower to enjoy around the home.

Plant these bulbs 10-15cm apart and 10-15cm deep in a mostly-sunny spot with free-draining soil. This is a long-lasting perennial plant, so ensure that it is planted somewhere permanent where the Allium can really flourish.
