Allium ‘Atropurpureum’ bulbs grow into dark purple, exotic looking flowers that are a magnet for bees and butterflies. It is a fabulous addition to pots or borders, gravel gardens and an array or low-maintenance spaces.
These tall and moody flowers, originating from Eastern Europe, love sunlight and well-drained soil, and are best planted in groups. This flower is a great way to fill gaps in a sunny border or can be planted in bold drifts. The wonderful flowers also make an excellent fresh cut or dried flower to enjoy around the home.
Robust and reliable to grow, simply plant these bulbs 15cm deep and 15cm apart in a position with full sun, in moist but free draining soil. They will then flourish and return year after year with a wonderful display of colour.
