Fiona Cairns Brand Story

Fiona Cairns was established over 39 years ago after Fiona made a batch of miniature fruit cakes one Christmas at the kitchen table.

Fiona trained as a graphic designer and pastry chef and these artistic skills shine through with her incredible creations, the Royal Wedding Cake in 2011 probably being the most famous creation of all.

Today, the bakery strives to maintain the same hands-on small-scale methods as they grow with all cakes and biscuits being hand finished. Kishore Patel, the co-founder, had the vision to grow the business and today his legacy continues through the leadership of his and Fiona’s daughter Tara.

The business prides itself on its high standards of excellence and with ingredients where they never settle for second best, sourcing only the finest quality butters, free range eggs, plump and juicy fruits, English preserves and natural colourings. With over 100 employees, who all share a passion for premium cakes, the team at Fiona Cairns and Fiona herself continue to lovingly create beautiful and delicious, sweet treats and are continually working on new creative ideas and innovation projects.

Fiona Cairns Ltd supports the local community and one charity very close to their hearts is Rainbows, a hospice for young children in the East Midlands, who have the most incredible team brightening short lives. The team at Fiona Cairns host many fundraising events for the charity throughout the year and regularly enjoy cake decorating days with the children, families of children and the staff which are always popular.
