Are Bramblecrest cushions waterproof?Garden Furniture Guides, Tips & Advice | 3 minutes of reading | By Emily Murison Bramblecrest cushions are not waterproof, but they are water resistant and therefore can be left outside all summer. Also known as ‘season-proof’ cushions, Bramblecrest scatter cushions are made with premium outdoor materials to ensure satisfaction and that they maintain shape all season long. Scatter cushions and bench cushions make seating more comfortable and add the personal touch to garden furniture. Whether you need a garden bench cushion or a scatter cushion, both are made to high standards and are ready for outdoor use. Bramblecrest have designed their cushion ranges with comfort in mind, but have also taken into account unpredictable British weather. As such, Bramblecrest cushions are made with a mix of hardwearing, durable weather-resistant materials, which means you don’t need to worry about bringing in Bramblecrest cushions in the event of a summer shower. Bramblecrest cushion covers are made with a mix of Polyethylene and Polyester for outdoor compatibility. They are plump and soft to touch – perfect for improving comfort for garden seating. Each cushion cover has a water-resistant lining to minimise rainwater penetration into the cushion and cushions are filled with man-made fibres to allow rainwater to pass through easily, aiding the drying process. Cushion covers by Bramblecrest are resistant to stains and fading too, thanks to the colourfast properties used to manufacture the cushions. Bramblecrest’s cushions are low maintenance with zips to allow easy access for spot cleaning and hand washing (up to 30 degrees). Where possible, try to avoid machine washing, as this can cause damage to the water-resistant lining. Remember cushions are reversible with patterns and colours on both sides, which is helpful for occasions when you don’t have time to wash the cushion cover. Instead, you can simply turn it over and make use of the other side of the cushion. To keep Bramblecrest cushions clean, we recommend removing any spillages immediately with a clean damp cloth. After use, and when fully dry Bramblecrest cushions can be stored away. A cushion box is ideal for storage throughout summer months. This will prolong the cleanliness of cushions and prevent garden grime or bird droppings from spoiling them. We stock a wide range of Bramblecrest cushion boxes, as well as cushion boxes from other brands of garden furniture. We advise against covering cushions regularly with protective outdoor covers, as this may cause the cushions to get damp. Cushion boxes are a great solution to hold Bramblecrest scatters, protecting them from rain. At the end of the season, Bramblecrest cushions should be stored indoors in a clean, dry and secure place. Suggestions for storage include placing cushions inside a cushion bag (or you could use the liner from your cushion storage box) and store them in a large cupboard, boot room or utility room. Alternatively, pop the cushion bag on top of a wardrobe or under a bed to keep them clean over the winter. This makes them easier to access when you need them the following season and prevents the chance of animal damage. We strongly advise against storing them in a garden shed or garage, as mice may discover them without you knowing. Keeping Bramblecrest cushions dry and clean will ultimately prolong the longevity of your cushions, enabling you to enjoy them year after year. Designed to complement Bramblecrest garden furniture ranges, but also to mix beautifully with other patio furniture brands, you can use Bramblecrest cushions outside with confidence all summer long. The season-proof liner will resist water and help the cushion to dry out quickly. So, don’t worry – although not fully waterproof, Bramblecrest cushions can be left outside all summer.
